FAQ
We know that navigating the college admissions process can raise many questions. Below, we’ve answered some of the most common inquiries we receive. If you don’t see your question here, feel free to contact us!
1. What is the process you use for college admissions advising?
Our process is tailored to each student’s needs. We start with a discovery call, followed by assessments to understand the student’s goals and preferences. From there, we create a personalized plan that includes curated college lists, timeline management, essay guidance, and ongoing support to ensure every step is completed stress-free and on time.
2. Do you only work with students in California?
No! While we’re based in Temecula, California, we work with students from across the country. We also have extensive knowledge of colleges nationwide, ensuring that students find the best fit for their unique needs and goals.
3. When should we start working with you?
Ideally, students should start no later than the second semester of their junior year. However, we offer packages that begin as early as freshman year to help students build a strong foundation. The earlier we start, the more time we have to plan and prepare.
4. Should my student take the SAT or ACT?
This depends on the student and their target colleges. We’ll help you assess which test is a better fit and whether test-optional policies may apply to your student’s application strategy.
5. My student’s GPA isn’t great. Can they still get into a good college?
Absolutely! There are many factors that colleges consider beyond GPA, including extracurricular activities, essays, letters of recommendation, and more. We’ll help your student highlight their strengths and find colleges where they can thrive.
6. What if my student isn’t ready for college?
If your student isn’t ready for college, we can explore other options, such as gap year programs, community college pathways, trade schools, or alternative career opportunities. We’ll work with you to find the best fit for their future.
7. Why is this process more confusing than when I applied to college?
College admissions have changed significantly over the years. Increased competition, test-optional policies, and the variety of programs available make the process more complex. That’s where we come in—to simplify and guide you through the process with confidence.
8. How many students do you work with each year?
To ensure personalized attention for every student, we limit our practice to 20 seniors per year. This allows us to provide dedicated, individualized support throughout the process.
9. Do you help with financial aid and scholarships?
Yes! We provide guidance on completing financial aid forms, comparing award offers, and finding scholarships that align with the student’s goals and qualifications.
10. How can we get started?
The first step is to schedule a 30-minute discovery call. During this call, we’ll discuss your student’s needs, our services, and how we can best support your family. Schedule Now.
